Ubicada en la zona centro-norte de la Cordillera Blanca y dentro del Parque Nacional Huascarán, la Montaña Huascarán es la cima más alta de Perú y la quinta en el Continente Americano. La cumbre norte tiene 6,655 metros sobre el nivel del mar y la cumbre sur es el punto más alto del país con 6,768 metros. Es un desafío muy conocido para montañistas de todo el mundo.

Para todos los alpinistas que deseen alcanzar su cumbre más alta, el Huascarán ofrece dos rutas: la ruta normal y la ruta escudo. Comenzaremos nuestra expedición de 6 días en Huaraz. Durante el ascenso, experimentaremos un desnivel de 3,740 metros desde el inicio del sendero y 750 metros desde el campamento más alto. Itinerario

Día 1: Huaraz - Campamento Base

Conduciremos durante una hora y media desde Huaraz hasta Musho, un pequeño pueblo en la región de Ancash. Desde allí, subiremos hasta el Campamento Base (4,200 metros) por 4 a 5 horas.

Día 2: Campamento Morena - Campamento Alto

Tomaremos una caminata de 5 a 6 horas primero al Campamento Morena y luego al Campamento Alto (5,400 metros).

Día 3: Campamento Alto 2

El día 3, ascenderemos al Campamento Alto 2 (6,000 metros) por aproximadamente 5 a 6 horas.

Día 4: Cumbre del Huascarán

Después de una caminata de 11 a 13 horas, alcanzaremos la cumbre del increíble Huascarán.

Día 5: Campamento Base

Iniciaremos el descenso al Campamento Alto, pasando por el Campamento Morena hasta el Campamento Base. Esto nos llevará alrededor de 4 a 6 horas.

Día 6: Musho - Huaraz

En nuestro último día, regresaremos a Musho (4 horas) y luego conduciremos de vuelta a Huaraz.

Percy Williams Dextre Henostroza who is a member of the Peruvian Mountain Guide Association (AGMP) for over 17 years and is fully certified by the Unión International Association of Mountain Guide (IFMGA-UIAGM). Percy who hails from a family of mountaineers, has worked and climbed all over Peru honing his skills over many years in the mountains. Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger.
